The terminals at Guayaquil Airport
The airport's own pages describe one terminal with two levels for the international flights: the international arrivals hall is on the ground floor and the international departures on the upper floor. The domestic flights have their own hall and their own arrivals belt.
In the departure halls there are self check-in kiosks, and the airport has self bag drop machines. The two information counters are on the upper floor for the international departures and on the ground floor for the international arrivals, with bilingual customer service at both.
Getting to and from Guayaquil Airport
The airport is in the Parque Samanes area, and the address its own pages give is Av. Paseo del Parque, Parque Samanes, bloque 3. The private car park holds 1,100 vehicles, in sectors that are marked so you can find your car again.
The authorized taxis work 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and wait at the exit doors of the domestic and the international arrivals. The car hire offices are in the international arrivals hall, on the ground floor.
What happens when you arrive at GYE
Keep your passport and any form you filled in on the plane with you the whole way, from the aircraft door to the exit.
In the terminal there are screens with the next arrivals and departures, and the customer service works 24 hours a day, so if the flight lands late there is someone to ask. On an international arrival you clear immigration, collect your bags and pass through customs.
Guayaquil Airport with children
There is a children's play area in the international boarding room, and a breastfeeding room that is open 24 hours a day: the mother goes to the information counter of the international arrivals to register, and there is a family bathroom next to the room.
The airport also runs the Sunflower programme, where a passenger with a hidden disability asks for help at the information counters, and the medical service is available 24 hours a day. Keep the children's documents in your carry-on bag, and leave the luggage trolleys for the bags: the airport says they are not for children.
Plan your stop at Guayaquil Airport
Terminals, airlines and arrival procedures change, so check with the airline and the airport's own site before you travel. And check with the embassy or consulate about the documents your family needs for the entry rules of every country on your route.
