Terminal 2 is only for departures, with Eurowings, Norwegian, Ryanair, Transavia, Volotea, Vueling and Wizz Air, and it is closed between 00:30 and 03:30. The terminals at Lisbon Airport
Lisbon Airport has two terminals:
- Terminal 1 is the main terminal, and the airlines that fly from it include EasyJet, Lufthansa, Ryanair, TAP Portugal, Transavia, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air and Vueling.
- Terminal 2 is only for departures, with Eurowings, Norwegian, Ryanair, Transavia, Volotea, Vueling and Wizz Air. It offers a simplified service, which makes the boarding process faster and easier.
Terminal 2 is closed between 00:30 and 03:30, and the airport's own page says the information about your terminal is on your ticket.
Getting to and from Lisbon Airport
The airport has a Metro station with a direct line to the city centre: the Aeroporto-Saldanha line takes you to downtown Lisbon in about 20 minutes, and the airport itself is 20 minutes from the city centre.
For the trains, Gare do Oriente, the main train station in Lisbon, is 10 minutes away by Metro and a bit longer by bus, and you can also get there by taxi. The city and the intercity buses stop near the airport arrivals terminal, and only luggage of a maximum size of 50 by 40 by 20 cm is allowed on the city buses.
What happens when you arrive at LIS
Keep your passport and any form you filled in on the plane with you the whole way, from the aircraft door to the exit.
The airport's own arrival page brings the real-time arrivals and the help for the passengers who land, and the ANA app finds your baggage carousel and the transport that suits you.
Lisbon Airport with children
The airport has its own page on travelling with children, with the suggestions to prepare the trickier moments of a trip with a child, and the family services are on its own services page.
Leave the passports and the children's documents in your carry-on bag, not in the checked luggage, so you have them at passport control. And keep in mind the size of the luggage on the city buses: a maximum of 50 by 40 by 20 cm, so a big suitcase is easier on the Metro.
Plan your stop at Lisbon Airport
Check the terminal of your flight on your ticket, because Terminal 2 is only for departures and it is closed in the middle of the night. And check with the embassy or consulate about the documents your family needs for the entry rules of every country on your route.
