The terminals at Prague Airport

Prague Airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and the split is by the border: Terminal 1 is for the flights outside the Schengen area, in Terminal 2 are the flights inside it, and the bus stops in front of the arrival hall of each one.

The airport's own destinations page lists the carriers that fly from Prague, from Pegasus, Air France, LOT, TAP, Austrian Airlines, Vueling, airBaltic, British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair and American Airlines to Korean Air, Delta and Hainan, with the destinations of each one and the terminal that every flight uses.

Getting to and from Prague Airport

The public transport buses stop in front of the arrival halls. The 59 trolleybus goes to the Veleslavin train station, with the metro line A, in about 15 minutes, the 100 goes to Zlicin, with the metro line B, in about 18 minutes, and the 191 goes to Petřiny and Andel, with the metro lines A and B, in about 50 minutes. At night the 910 and the 907 reach the city centre in about 45 minutes.

The Airport Express bus links the main railway station of Prague with the airport, stopping right in front of the terminal building of Terminals 1 and 2, and the trip takes about 40 minutes depending on the traffic. The tickets are sold at the Visitor Centre of the arrival halls, and you can also buy them from the driver.

The public transport tickets have to be bought before you get on the bus. They are sold in the Visitor Centre, at the counters of the Prague Public Transit company in the arrival halls and in the ticket machines, which take contactless cards, and the Lítačka app sells them too.

What happens when you arrive at Prague Airport

The airport warns about the reconstruction of the Aviatická intersection, with traffic restrictions and longer travel times to the airport in the rush hour, and it asks you to leave well in advance or to use the public transport, which is not affected by the works.

The airport's own map of the terminal has the gates, the services and the shops marked, and the destinations page shows the terminal of every flight, so you can see where you have to go before you land.

Prague Airport with children

There are observation areas to watch the planes, and in Terminal 2 you can relax on a deck chair in the summer, while in Terminal 1 you can have the view with a coffee or a snack in the Runway Restaurant.

For the children there are play areas, the free colouring books and the activity booklets that you can pick up at the Runway Restaurant, in the lounges or at the information desks, and the mobile games of the airport, for Android and for iPhone. Keep the passports and the children's documents in your carry-on bag, not in the checked luggage.

Plan your stop at Prague Airport

Check with the airline and with the airport's own site before you travel: the terminal of your flight, the airlines and the arrival procedures change, and the airport is being modernized. And check with the embassy or the consulate about the documents your family needs for the entry rules of every country on your route.
