The terminal at Curaçao Airport

Curaçao International Airport (CUR) has one passenger terminal, opened in late 2018, of 18,432 square metres, with a design capacity of 2.5 million passengers a year. It has eight boarding gates in the departure hall and six boarding bridges that can take three wide-body aircraft at the same time, three security screening machines, five counters and four e-gates for outbound immigration, six counters and ten e-gates for inbound immigration, and three baggage carousels.

Inside the building there are the Check-in Hall, the Departures Hall upstairs, the Arrivals Hall and the baggage hall, and the operator opened a separate General Aviation Center in 2014, in its own building with a private entrance. The terminal is also being worked on: the Outbound Terminal mid-expansion project started in May 2026 and runs into the first quarter of 2027.

Airlines at Curaçao Airport

The airport's own airlines page lists the carriers grouped by region. From North America: American Airlines to Miami, Charlotte and Chicago seasonally, Air Canada to Toronto and Montreal, JetBlue to New York, United Airlines to Newark, WestJet to Toronto and Delta Air Lines to Atlanta.

From South America: Avianca to Bogotá, Wingo to Bogotá and Medellín, Surinam Airways to Paramaribo, Azul to Confins and Belo Horizonte, and EZ-AIR, Laser Airlines and Avior Airlines to Caracas. From Central America, Copa Airlines to Panama City. From Europe, KLM, TUI and Corendon to Amsterdam. And in the Caribbean, Divi Divi Air to Bonaire and Aruba, Winair to Aruba, Bonaire and Sint Maarten, Caribbean Airlines to Port of Spain, and Air Century, Arajet and RED Air to the Dominican Republic.

Getting to and from Curaçao Airport

The airport is about a twenty-minute ride from downtown historic Punda, and the operator says it can be reached by taxi, by public bus and by car rental. The authorized taxis wait outside the Arrivals Hall, the public bus has a stop next to the Departures Hall and another just after the Arrivals Hall, and the car rental counters are in the Arrivals Hall.

The car rental counters are generally open from one hour before the first departing flight until two hours after the last one. If you are going to collect somebody, the area in front of the Arrivals Hall is not a pick-up or waiting area: the airport asks you to wait in the car park until the traveller is ready.

Curaçao Airport with children

The airport has a Kids Zone with interactive play areas in the East Wing, near gate 2, and in the West Wing, between gates 4 and 5. Next to gate 5 there is a Nursing Pod, a private space for feeding a baby, changing it or simply resting before the flight, and the airport also lists a nursing room among its services.

If you travel with minors, the airport asks you to use a staffed booth at check-in and at immigration, because the e-gates are only for eligible travellers who are not travelling with children. It also offers a sunflower lanyard for hidden disabilities and dedicated assistance for families and groups, and free wifi throughout the terminal.

Plan your stop at Curaçao Airport

The check-in hall is open daily from 06:00 to 00:00, and the airport asks you to check with your airline for its counter hours and to allow extra time if you travel with odd-sized baggage, a pet or if you need additional assistance. Most airlines let you check in online or in the app up to 24 hours before departure, and there are eight self-service kiosks near the right entrance of the hall.

All international visitors need the Digital Immigration Card within the seven days before departure, and the airport asks you to keep the passport, the boarding pass and the documents at hand for the immigration check. Check the operator's own site before you travel, because the airlines and the schedules change, and ask the embassy or the consulate of every country on your route which documents your family needs to enter it.
