The terminals at Monterrey Airport
Monterrey International Airport has three terminals, and the airlines are spread between them: American Airlines, United Airlines, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Copa Airlines, Viva Aerobus, Volaris and Mexicana in Terminal A, Delta Airlines and Aeroméxico in Terminal B, and Viva Aerobus also uses Terminal C.
The airport asks you to arrive at least one hour before a domestic departure and at least 2 hours before an international one.
Getting to and from Monterrey Airport
The airport-city express service runs from the Y Griega metro station along Miguel Alemán Avenue to the airport, and the Senda and Noreste buses cover the region, with tickets online and at the counters in Terminals A and B, and Terminals A and C.
Inside the airport, a free shuttle connects Terminals A, B and C with their parking lots and runs 24 hours a day, so you can change terminals without going back outside. A separate free shuttle runs between Terminal A and Terminal C from 05:00 to 24:00, with a maximum wait of 10 minutes.
What happens when you arrive at MTY
On an international arrival you fill out the Customs Declaration Form, and once you have claimed your luggage you go through the screening process and follow the directions of the customs agents.
Keep your passport and any form you filled in on the plane with you the whole way, from the aircraft door to the exit, and the declaration form is one of them.
Monterrey Airport with children
The interterminal shuttle is free and runs all day, so a family that lands at one terminal and leaves from another can stay inside the airport instead of taking a taxi with the bags and the children in the car.
Identify your luggage with your name, address and telephone number, and leave the passports and the children's documents in your carry-on bag, not in checked luggage.
Plan your stop at Monterrey Airport
Check with the airline and the airport's own site before you travel: the terminals, the airlines and the arrival procedures change. And check with the embassy or consulate about the documents your family needs for the entry rules of every country on your route.
