The terminal at Malaga Airport
Malaga Airport is the Malaga-Costa del Sol airport, 8 kilometres from the city centre and connected with the whole of the Costa del Sol. All the airlines fly from the same terminal, and the check-in desks of floor 1 are the 201 to 275, the 301 to 362 and the 363 to 386, with the transit zone in T3.
It is one of the busiest airports in Spain: 26,760,639 passengers and 187,021 operations in 2025. The destinations with the most passengers are London Gatwick, Barcelona, Dublin, Amsterdam Schiphol, Copenhagen and Manchester, and the traffic with Madrid-Barajas is also very large.
Getting to and from Malaga Airport
The train of the line C1 runs between Malaga Centro Alameda and Fuengirola and stops at the airport. From the airport, Malaga Maria Zambrano is 8 minutes away, where the AVE high-speed trains leave, the centre of Malaga is 12 minutes and Benalmadena 18 minutes, and Fuengirola is 34 minutes.
The buses go to the towns of Cadiz, Algeciras and La Linea de la Concepcion, and Alsa connects the airport with Motril, Seville and Granada. The bus stops are on floor 0, in the arrivals area.
What happens when you arrive at Malaga Airport
The airport's own airlines page has the destinations of every carrier that flies from Malaga, with the terminal it uses, so you can look for the flights of your airline before you travel and see where it goes from the airport.
The buses pick you up on floor 0, in the arrivals area, and the train stop is on the ground floor as well, so both ways out of the airport are a short walk from where you land.
Malaga Airport with children
There is a nursing room of 140 square metres between the zones B and C, and it is free and only for the families with small babies and children. It has four spaces: a dining area with tables, chairs, microwaves and a sink, the toilets with the nappy changing area, a breastfeeding room with sofas and curtains, and a toddler area with toys.
The children's play areas are in the arrivals, in the baggage claim, in the check-in area, in the transit zone and on the piers, and the pushchairs for babies and children are a free service in the boarding and the debarkation area. The airport also has a family toilet and baby changing rooms, and the maps of the airport show you where they are.
Plan your stop at Malaga Airport
Check with the airline and with the airport's own site before you travel: the airlines, the destinations and the arrival procedures change. And check with the embassy or the consulate about the documents your family needs for the entry rules of every country on your route.
