The Arlanda express is a non-stop train between Stockholm Central Station and the airport, and it takes 18 minutes. You can buy the ticket at the manned counters or at the self-service machines of the central station, and at the airport at the machines by the escalators and the lifts that go down to the train.

The commuter trains of SL, to Stockholm and to Uppsala, stop at Arlanda Central Station in SkyCity, between Terminals 4 and 5, and 60 long-distance trains of SJ and Vy Tåg arrive and leave every day. What happens when you arrive at Stockholm Arlanda Airport

The airport's own departures page tells you which terminal your flight leaves from, and it is worth looking at it before you travel, because the airline decides the terminal and it can change between one flight and the next.

The terminals are joined by SkyCity, the building in the middle with the shops and the services, and the train stations are inside it, so you can move between the terminals without going out.

Stockholm Arlanda Airport with children

Most airlines ask you to check the stroller in, as special baggage, but if you need one after you have checked in, you can borrow a stroller in Terminals 2 and 5. There are baby changing facilities before and after the security check in all the terminals, and the airport map shows you the nearest one.

Flajt, the bird of the airport, has several play areas: a large one at the Marketplace in Terminal 5, two bigger ones near the gates C31 and E6, and smaller ones in Terminal 2 near the gates 67 and 87 and in Terminal 5 near the gates D20, F36 and F68. You can bring the baby food in your hand baggage, but you have to take it out at the security check.

Plan your stop at Stockholm Arlanda Airport

Check with the airline and with the airport's own site before you travel: the terminal of your flight, the airlines and the arrival procedures change. And check with the police of the country you travel to about the travel documents of the children, because the rules for a child who travels with only one guardian change from one country to the next.
